How to make a flower garland wall hanging

Hello again flower friends! I hope you're all doing well. I'm back for an extra #APRflowerEd as promised :). Another little fun one: A flower garland wall hanging. It is quite fiddly so it will take time and practise to get into a nice flow, but once you get it, you'll be well on your way! There's nothing quite like a fresh flower garland but you can do this with dried flowers or artificial. It's a great little idea for any little pieces you may have saved up—but I also get t

What flowers are in season in Winter?

Hi flower lovers, I'm late with what was supposed to be last week's #APRflowerEd BUT it'll mean you get two this week! :) We're in week 9 apparently of lockdown. I thought it was week 8 but each week rolls into the other now. I want to laugh and cry at the same time haha. Anyway, enough about me. We really do have some beautiful flowers in Winter! I'm starting to grow some of my own flowers and it has been half successful and half a learning curve ~ all a learning experience

How to care for cut flower Anemones + a greenery garland 'how to' video

Hello dear flower lovers, I hope you're doing well... especially those who are in lockdown. It's not normal to be locked down and although we all understand why, it doesn't make it any easier. We're a different breed now where we understand that we live in privilege and we don't need to be reminded that our problems are 'first world,' like we did before. It's true, there are others are doing it tougher but we're all just living our own realities and what's relative to ourselv

    What's in season in Winter?

Heya flower friends, I hope you're all doing well! In NSW we're in our fifth week of lockdown ~ I think, I don't even know anymore ~ with another four weeks to go, that we're aware of. There's so much that's confusing about it all and so much that's certain. One thing I'm struggling with is the divisiveness. We all have our opinions and probably evidence to back up our points but the truth is somewhere in the middle of all opinions and theories etc. I was taught to that diffe

How to care for cut flower Daffodils

Heya flower people, I hope you're not losing your marbles in this lockdown and especially since the extension. Luckily we're at least able to go for walks whenever we please. I know for my mental health that I need this. I haven't had much sleep because my hubby and I found ourselves in the emergency department last night/early morning (don't worry, it's all good now). It was pretty empty and whilst we didn't want to be there at all, you could see all the workers just doing t

    What's in season in Winter?

Heya flower lovers, Well haven't things turned upside down a little bit. I saw some people say that they were expecting another lockdown and were prepared for it whereas in hindsight I can see it now but I was too busy getting swept up in my freedoms haha. Well, I made the most of it and hopefully we won't go beyond two weeks. We were supposed to be in the NT this week for our Wedding Anniversary so there is definitely disappointment there but hopefully we'll get to go soon.

How to make a dried wreath

Hey hey flower friends, I really wasn't sure if I'd get anything up today as I was having some tech issues yesterday and this morning I was racing against the clock with wait for it...a scheduled planned power outage... that we forgot about haha. You know, I always heard YouTubers talk about tech issues and it's not until now that I understand how much of a thing it is... not enough phone storage, apps not working, videos jumbling etc etc. Anyhow, I wasn't quite successful ge

How to propagate succulents using an egg carton

Hello flower friends, Hasn’t it been cold lately! I really feel that we’re well and truly in winter. My garden is still in Autumn though, as the Japanese Maple tree is still glowing amber but leaves are definitely dropping and covering the ground wiping for me to come and clean it up haha. I can't remember how long ago but it was late Autumn that I decided that I'd try a propagating succulents in an egg carton. I'd seen this pin on Pinterest and it intrigued me. This person h

Three flower pressing methods I use and Mt Kosciuszko

Hey hey flower friends! This week for #APRflowerEd is a mix of flowers and a more personal, not-so-flowers related post. When I first started this journal I thought I'd share a mixture of things on here but have mainly been sharing all things flowers. So I thought I'd start with a trip I took with some family members all the way to Mt Kosciuszko back in March, as well as share my three main methods for flower pressing. On my trip south, there was absolutely no reception until

How to care for cut flower Ornamental Kale

Hello dear flower lovers! I had some technical difficulties last week and so I wasn't able to get my #APRflowerEd post up here, nor on YouTube. I love technology but it definitely has its downsides! This week on YouTube, I'm sharing a little wedding I had on the weekend a couple of weeks back. It was a small Southern Highlands wedding with all dried flowers. I go through my process and share some tips along the way. Today's post is going to be all about Ornamental Kale. I spo
